[T1] Horse Chestnut Location: Rear of property. Specification: Reduce new growth height by approximately 1.5–2m and lateral spread all round by up to 2m, pruning back to suitable growth points. Clear epicormic growth on the stem to approximately 5m and remove major deadwood 4cm diameter and greater throughout the crown. Remove all arising debris from site. Reason: The proposed works form part of an ongoing cyclical management regime, with the tree having been pruned previously to maintain an appropriate size and form relative to its location. Selective reduction pruning and removal of epicormic growth and deadwood will maintain crown structure and facilitate continued long-term management in accordance with good arboricultural practice. The tree is also subject to ongoing vitality management through periodic potassium phosphite stem drench treatments, with a further application planned to support physiological health and resilience.
