The use of the building will remain the same. The proposal seeks to enhance inclusive access at Alton Community Hall through the installation of a new external passenger/evacuation lift serving ground floor to first floor level. The lift will provide step???free access between floors, improving accessibility for people with reduced mobility and supporting compliance with inclusive design principles. The works include the construction of a purpose???designed lift shaft positioned to the side of the existing building, designed to minimise visual impact and integrate with the host structure. The lift will be suitable for both day???to???day passenger use and assisted evacuation. Associated works include drainage provisions to manage and dispose of rainwater from the new structure, ensuring no adverse impact on the existing building or surrounding site.
