Description
Notice of intent to carry out works to trees in a Conservation Area: Birch (Betulus pendula), approximately 10 metres in height and currently in good structural condition with good crown vitality. Proposed Works :- - Excavation and construction associated with installation of a vehicle crossover within part of the RPA - No felling, pruning, or direct above-ground works to the tree are proposed Tree Protection and Methodology :- All works within the RPA will be carried out in accordance with BS 5837:2012 and the recommendations of the submitted arboricultural report, including: - Excavation undertaken by hand or using air-spade techniques where roots are present - Retention of roots wherever possible - Clean pruning only of roots under 25mm diameter where unavoidable - Avoidance of cutting roots greater than 25mm unless absolutely necessary - Roots greater than 100mm in diameter are to only be severed after consultation with the appropriate supervisory arboricultural consultant. - Protection of exposed roots from desiccation and temperature change
